Vol. 2 is the second version of a cocktail menu designed for a Helsinki-based bar inspired by the Chinese zodiac. While the zodiac world remains the base, this version explores the theme from a new angle, focusing on ingredients from below and above ground.
The menu features twelve illustrated characters: six representing underground elements and six from above ground. Each character combines the traits of its zodiac sign with the nature of the cocktail ingredients.
The visual style is inspired by the bar’s atmosphere, neon lighting, and nightlife energy. Darker tones reflect the underground world, while lighter colors represent above ground. The illustrations were created in Infinite Painter, with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign used for layout and final design.
This project highlights my interest in character design and how illustration can support a cohesive visual identity.

Character Design
I designed another 12 characters based on Chinese zodiac sign. These ones were inspired of the theme below and above.
I wanted to keep the color palette cohesive and fairly minimal, letting the ingredient illustrations bring in either darkness or light, depending on the theme.
